AMERICA ATTACKED!!

"And I will prepare destroyers (terrorists) against
you, every one with his weapons (knives): and they shall
cut down your choice cedars (The World Trade Towers), and
cast them into the fire." Jeremiah 22:7
On September 11, 2001 America was attacked by terrorists.
This was the worst attack in the history of the United
States. It occurred on the 23rd anniversary of the Camp
David Peace Accord between the Israelis and Palestinians.
Thousands of Americans were killed. In the Pearl Harbor
attack, December 7, 1941, 2,887 were killed.
Two airplanes were hijacked and deliberately piloted into
the World Trade buildings. The first plane hit the World
Trade Center at approximately 8:45 a.m., September 11,
2001. Eighteen minutes later the second plane arrived and
smashed into the other World Trade building.
Approximately one hour later both buildings totally
collapsed to the ground. A third airplane smashed into
the helicopter pad very near the Pentagon, causing it to
catch on fire. A fourth airplane crashed some 80 miles
south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania˜cause unknown.
It is time to open up your Bible and read about these
last days. Israel is the epicenter of world attention and
we now have experienced what Israel and the Jewish people
have been experiencing for centuries. . And since America
has sided with Israel, agreeing with them that they have
a right as a nation to exist, we have paid a great price.
Watch for world opinion to turn against Israel before the
King of Kings and Lord of Lords returns. Now it will be
easier than ever to talk to people about Jesus, the
Bible, and the end times. This may be the wake-up call
that our country has needed to bring us back to God. Even
the major newscasters, who are normally mockers of sacred
things, are using the name of God in a positive way. Many
of them even are asking all Americans to pray!
"Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling
unto all the people round about, when they shall be in
the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And
in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for
all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be
cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth are
gathered together against it. And it shall come to pass
in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations
that come against Jerusalem." Zechariah 12:2-3,9
Does the Bible speak directly about what we have just
witnessed? Absolutely. Here are just a few of the verses
that will shake you to your core as you read them:

Afghanistan:
Darius I and Alexander the Great were the first to use
Afghanistan as the gateway to India. Islamic conquerors
arrived in the 7th century, and Genghis Khan and
Tamerlane followed in the 13th and 14th centuries.
Coming closer to the present-- time during the cold war
King Mohammed Zahir Shah developed close ties with the
Soviet Union, accepting extensive economic assistance
from Moscow. His successor, Babrak Karmal attempted to
create a Marxist state. Armed insurgents bitterly opposed
communism and hoped to create an Islamic state in
Afghanistan. He was afraid that his government was on the
verge of collapse, so Karmal called for Soviet troops.
Russia responded with a full-scale invasion of the
country in December 1979.
The Soviets were met with fierce resistance by the Afghan
guerrilla forces, even though they were initially armed
with outdated weapons. These guerrilla forces named
themselves Mujahedeen and pledged a jihad (holy war) to
expel the Soviet invaders. . Russia found herself
involved in a Vietnam type war.
It was at this time that the United States began
funneling sophisticated arms and training to the
Mujahedeen via Pakistan. Moscow‚s troops were soon
bogged down in a no-win conflict with the fierce and
determined Afghan fighters. In April 1988 the USSR, the
U.S., Afghanistan, and Pakistan signed accords calling
for an end to outside aid. The Soviet Union withdrew in
February 1989
Several competing factions fought and struggled to take
over leadership of the country. A group calling itself
the Taliban (consisting of Islamic students) seized
control of Kabul in September 1996. It imposed harsh
fundamentalist laws, including stoning for adultery, and
severing hands for theft. Women were prohibited from work
and school, and they were required to cover themselves in
public from head to toe. By the fall of 1998 the Taliban
controlled about 90% of the country.
On August 20, 1998 U.S. cruise missiles struck a
terrorist training complex in Afghanistan which was
financed by Osama bin Laden, an Islamic radical. He has
been harbored and protected by the Taliban government.
The United States asked for his deportation after the
bombing of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania on
August 7, 1998. The Afghan government refused to hand him
over.
Because of the Taliban‚s scorched-earth tactics and
human rights abuses, only three countries recognize the
Taliban government as Afghanistan‚s legitimate
government˜Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the U.A.R.
Osama bin Laden has training bases in various places. It
is estimated that he has trained at least 55,000
terrorists and dispersed them to several countries around
the world . Some of them live in the United States. They
pass themselves off as upper-middle-class business people
and immerse themselves into the culture and society. They
wait, these "sleeping agents", sometimes for
years, to be called upon to do their dastardly deeds.
It was some of these terrorists who hijacked the American
Airlines and United Airlines planes and destroyed the
twin towers of the World Trade buildings in New York
City, and partially damaged the Pentagon. Thousands of
hard working, innocent Americans were mercilessly
murdered September 11, 2001 (the number 911 eerily
emerges from this date).
Jesus spoke of such a day in the 24th chapter of Matthew.
He said that a great tribulation would take place. He
said that it would be so bad that nothing like it has
ever existed upon the face of the earth˜ever! He
told us that if the days were not shortened all flesh on
the earth would be destroyed. And he taught us that the
generation that sees these things take place would see
His return and the end of the world.
We are in these last days now! It is not some day off
into the future anymore. It is today. This means that our
time for spreading the gospel is running out. The great
work that we have to do must be done now. We need to pour
all of our efforts and resources into the spread of the
gospel while we have the opportunity to do so.
